What began as a passion project to combat ageism and sexism in the entertainment industry quickly evolved into a cultural milestone, spawning three hit Showtime specials and a nationwide tour. On September 18, Montgomery will bring this celebrated production to Stand Up NY in Times Square, offering audiences a fiercely hilarious night that proves comedy only gets sharper and bolder with age.

Carole Montgomery

Known for her relatable, witty, and unapologetically bold humor, Carole delivers a seasoned perspective on life. Her credits include creating the hit Funny Women of a Certain Age franchise with three Showtime specials, appearing on Comics Unleashed, and racking up dozens of national television appearances since the 1980s comedy boom.

Ellen Karis

Affectionately known as the "Greek Goddess of Comedy," Ellen brings a rapid-fire, highly relatable style filled with sharp cultural observations and engaging banter. Her credits include a featured stand-up special on Dry Bar Comedy, extensive nationwide club performances, and hosting the Baklava & Banter podcast.

Leighann Lord

Inspired by legends like George Carlin, Leighann performs what she calls "Thinking Cap Comedy"—a smart, sexy, and savvy style of thought-provoking "heads up humor". Her credits include serving as a frequent guest co-host on Neil deGrasse Tyson's StarTalk Radio, as well as stand-up appearances on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, and ABC's The View.

Marla Schultz

Marla delivers high-energy, engaging observational comedy that resonates universally, making her a highly sought-after stand-up comic, keynote speaker, and emcee. Her credits include performances across the country and appeared on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen (CBS), Girls Behaving Badly (Oxygen), The Entertainer with Wayne Newton (E!) and more.

MJ Standup Korean (Dr. Mina Cheon)

Professor emerita, former dean of an art college turned comic, MJ blends the worlds of art and comedy. Her unique comedy style features art history jokes, message-driven political satire, and dark romantic humor that playfully explores Asian stereotypes and global geopolitics. Her credits include her hour “K-Comedy Art Activism” at Whitman College and House of Nancy NY. She is the producer of Global K-Comedy, and serves as the Chief Talent Curator and Head of Creative Programming for Stand Up NY.
