Marnie wins the Best Friend Award in the end, and closes with a very strong episode of insane lines and a bathroom Facetime b**t off, and Hannah's mom, once again, tries to bring her into adulthood. We did it, folks.

- Girls 6.7 The Bounce AKA I'm As Talented As You Think You AreJan 2, 2026 · 1 hr 20 minElijah fires his acting career back up hard and fast with an open call for the musical adaptation of "White Men Can't Jump," and it's everything you'd hope it would be. Meanwhile we get a haunting from boyfriend's past, as Dill is at a baby-buying scandal of a rock bottom and shows up at the door at the worst time. Hannah finally reaches the NOT waterski instructor by phone to hit him with the Maury you ARE the father message, and then deals with the aftermath alongside eight pizzas. Marnie gets an eviction notice, calls her mom, and takes some jewelry to the pawn shop and is forced to see her true reflection in a fraudulent bit of jewelry. This episode also has the exact right amount of Jessa.

Ray is dealing with going through Hermie's apartment and things, and it provides a useful epiphany about Marnie, whose character development got completely left behind in the season 5 finale, apparently. Meanwhile, Adam and Jessa are making "their" movie with Fake Hannah the actress, and they have two very different takes on what it's all about (not surprisingly).

Hannah's Moth story has led to a New York Times piece which leads to a new assignment (from guest star Chelsea Peretti!) to head out to Montauk and write about a ladies surf group. She finds another notable guest star (Riz Ahmed!) to be her empty-headed vibes friend (with benefits) for the weekend, and to give her a bit of perspective on the difference between bonding over loving things, and hating things. Marnie and Ray babe themselves into what might be the beginning of the end of something, Shosh and Ray act like an old married couple and Marnie and Desi divorce themselves into another problem. Adam and Jessa meanwhile have put their violent domestic disputes behind them and have regressed into a couple of nude cavepeople for some reason. GIRLS! FINAL SEASON!

- Girls 5.9 Love Stories AKA Tally In, Dill and Fran OutOct 17, 2025 · 1 hr 35 minIt's the penultimate episode of the penultimate season of GIRLS! Hannah begins by breaking up with her #secretdick of a boyf for like the third episode in a row, says goodbye to a gig and a principal, and hello to old frenemy Tally (Jenny Slate) for a wild, vulnerable and at times genuinely poignant Brooklyn day. Marnie tries to talk to her mind-controlled ex/current musical collaborator before struggling with her self-directed mandate for being alone. Ray gets a special visit from a sneaky marketing pro just back from Japan who's going to try to save his coffee business, and we get a brief peek at Adam and Jessa on their way back to whatever their new, maybe-parents life is. BONUS: stay after the credits for a few minutes of Kev talking about his colonoscopy! FUN!

The episode centers around an immersive theater experience that is the kind of thing that is a nightmare for both your podcast boys, and we get: all the Girls showing no respect whatsoever for performers, a lingering Hannah/Fran fight, Marnie announcing her new status to Ray before getting a surprise return from someone who barely left, and Adam and Jessa go kind-of public with their new relationship. Elsewhere, Elijah continues his spin-off show within a show and tries to DTR at a super fancy Dill party.

- Girls 5.3 Japan AKA Goofy NudesAug 21, 2025 · 1 hr 13 minWe're BACK on our Girls journey, and honestly, we've never been happier about it. This episode is an absolute breath of fresh, Eastern hemisphere air as we go to Shosh's new life in Japan, meet her work crush Yoshi, her gal pals, and the new life she's started and absolutely loving...at least until she gets "managed out" of it. Hannah finds a series of nudes in Fran's phone -- but don't worry, they're there for totally normal reasons no one could POSSIBLY question -- and then enlists Ray & Elijah to help class up her nude game. Adam gets a guest role on a police procedural show and even more impressively gets a sincere compliment from Jessa, and Marnie drops in for about 90 seconds that are all amazing. Oh, and there's a lot of butts in this one.

- AJLT 3.12 Party of One AKA This Is…It?Aug 15, 2025 · 2 hr 33 minIn what we are led to believe is the very last bit of Sex and the City media ever (for now), Carrie eats at a weird Japanese restaurant, talks to Charlotte about the idea of being alone, passes out pies to everybody, and listens to some very good Barry White. Charlotte gets railed (thank GOD), and in a notably human way, explains what loving someone means. LTW considers leaving her husband because he's sad for a week, and has a confrontation with Marion (a man!) over legitimately nothing, Seema considers whether marriage is something she wants or something that society has conditioned her into wanting, and Miranda throws a Thanksgiving for a group of people that are like what if a Fox News AI bot wrote "Brooklyn Queer People" as a character. And then…it's over. Folks, we go long, and have a lot of thoughts and feelings.

Miranda goes completely, narcissistically unhinged with a sneaky Thanksgiving invite, Charlotte approaches what *could have been* a nuanced and serious moment of evolution about her feelings about Rock's life, as they star in a musical and show her what another life might have been. Harry has some great lines about his not so straight line, TLDR almost annoys her losing husband into retirement, and Seema gets blown in a shower. It might seem like there's more to it than that, but,

Here, Carrie enjoys her "writing partner" whose notes on her work include a range of advice from "that is good" to "wow, that is good," Brady Hobbes buries the lead with a good news/bad news situation to Miranda and a returning and raging Steve, Charlotte tries to zoom with a psychic healer, the comptroller's race comes to a conclusion, and Seema, somehow, tops herself and does her worst thing yet. Oh, and there are both big dong marionettes AND farts. It's like they've been reading our fanfic!

In an episode in which the B, C, D thru Z stories shouldn't have even existed, LTW just says "Ozempic" twice, Joy reveals an incredible bit of self-centeredness upon Miranda's alcoholic confession, Charlotte and Harry literally just waddle and fall down, Seema stinks (literally), Anthony finally stands up for himself with the woman of the amazing disappearing accent, and then…there's the actual story between Carrie and Aidan. Jealousy, insecurity, finally sort of confronting some things (in way too quick a window, but, alas), and a surprising finale.

LTW puts her phone on silent and misses the passing of her dad (RIP Billy D, who IS still alive in real life, thank God), and ends up tussling with Lucille 3 (played by the great Jennifer Lewis) about arrangements, Charlotte finally gets busted while trying to keep Harry's secret secret, and Seema helps Miranda look for an apartment after a (sorta) tearful goodbye to her car & driver. Come for the storylines, stay for the MULTIPLE references to the hobbit universe and exploration about how squirrels see each other.

LTW has a work crush, Charlotte is dealing with some actual serious Harry news, but they all go glamping. And most importantly…Seema…tries to get a loan!

Harry's Pop Pop comes to visit and donate his banana to neighbors in need as Harry contemplates his own banana/mortality, Lilly introduces her polyboyf to the family, LTW tries to fight off sleep divorce and considers a MAN (a hot one) as a possible new editor, Seema leaves her job for real, and Miranda gets memed after a tough on air appearance, but ends the episode getting kissed at.

Charlotte goes out to the party, after party, and after-after party to network and up her painting-selling business while wing-womaning a friend, Harry has a very understandable incident with button jeans, Miranda has her first kinda-date with the reporter, Anthony has an absolute non-story arc with objectifying his big hog boyf for his bread shop, LTW unreasonably flips out about her editor taking a much better job instead of continuing with a decade-long documentary that will never end, and Seema gets passed over at her job and acts in a way that has us asking, rhetorically: we're supposed to hate her, right?

Marnie's situationship with Desi has only gotten more complicated since the end of season 3, and their jazz brunch doesn't help anything or anyone, really. Jessa loses BD to her actual daughter who hasn't tried to help her off this mortal coil. played by Natasha Lyonne, and then stops by Marnie's gig/Hannah's goodbye party to be a dbag as per usual. We meet Shosh's parents, both named Mel, who never stop arguing. Adam is in the "do embarrassing commercials" period of his acting career, and he and Hannah struggle with how to handle things as she launches to Iowa, for real.

The four gals are all together, there's almost too many amazing lines to write down, there's realistic friend dynamics on a weekend away at Marnie's aunt's beach house, and there's a Shoshanna monologue and resulting scene that is so good we just had to play it in full.

In this episode, Hannah begins by boning Donald Glover, and ends with a rough conversation with broken-legged sad Adam. Marnie goes from saging her house to rid it of Ray, to a Ray makeout sesh at a party. Marnie gets downsized finds herself in a low spot, a sex-with-a-gay-guy spot, and then a very familiar spot. Jessa shows up to be an a-hole for like two minutes, and boom, we're off and running with season 2.

Hannah's writing rival is having success which drives her crazy enough so that she takes almost the literal first step towards being a writer, and goes to a reading held by her favorite college teacher (played by Michael Imperioli — the guest stars on this show, A+). Jessa gets herself read by Katherine, who tries unsuccessfully to re-hire her in spite of her pathetic husband, and Shosh signs up for online dating in a scene that had us wanting to see more — literally, anything more! In the end, we have a big selfish-off between Marnie and Hannah, where somehow, everyone manages to be more wrong than right.

Also, Hannah is shaken to learn a huge thing about Adam's life from a lesbian who tries to bite a bottlecap off a beer.
