Election Decompression: Let's Laugh it Off

About this show

Election Decompression: Let's Laugh it Off A Post-Election Fundraiser for the League of Women Voters Celebrate democracy at the Oak Park River Forest League of Women Voters post election stand up comedy show featuring 3 of Chicago’s funniest women! Headliner: Patti Vasquez is a Chicago-based stand-up comedian, actress, radio host, and progressive political advocate who successfully bridges the worlds of entertainment and public policy with a distinct, autobiographical comedy style. Patti blends highly personal, empathetic storytelling with a cheerful edginess, utilizing her half-Mexican, half-Irish heritage, parenthood, and the absurdities of human behavior as comedic anchors. Rather than dwelling on the minutiae of daily life, she uses her humor as an educational tool to unpack heavy social injustices and the realities of raising a child with special needs, intentionally creating tension before resolving it into shared laughter. This unique approach directly mirrors her political life; beyond media credits like recurring roles on Chicago Fire, headlining internationally, and hosting daily progressive talk radio on WCPT 820 AM. A fun night for everyone no matter who you voted for! *2 Drink Minimum Per Person *21 and over unless accompanied by an adult
